How much of it is growth?
The interesting number is not the total. It is how much of the total you put in, and how much the time did.
Why the split matters
Early on, almost all of a balance is money you contributed. Later, the growth can be the larger part. Knowing which side you are on tells you whether adding more or waiting longer is the thing that would change your outcome — and those call for different decisions.
Charges have their own line
A percentage taken every year compounds against you exactly the way growth compounds for you. It is a separate control here rather than folded into the return, because a figure you cannot see is a figure you cannot weigh.
No tax is modelled. What a return is taxed at, and whether it is taxed as it accrues or only when you sell, differs by country and by the kind of account it sits in. The figures here are before any of that.
This is a plain compounded sum. The app's own projection is a different thing: it runs many possible futures and reports a range, because one line implies a precision nobody has.

About Valnivo
Valnivo is a free financial planning tool that projects your income, spending and savings over 10, 20 and 30 years. It handles money held in several countries and currencies, and it is private by default.
It holds no money, connects to no bank and never asks for banking credentials. Every figure it shows is an illustration built on your own assumptions, not a forecast and not advice. Open the app.
