Terms of use
These terms say what Valnivo is, what it is not, and what you and its author each take on when you use it. They are written to be read. Before you first use the app, on the web or from an app store, you are shown a short notice and asked to accept these terms and the privacy notice; if you do not accept them, do not use the app. Valnivo is still in testing and is not yet intended for public use.
1. Who offers Valnivo
Valnivo is developed and offered by Kabil Jbeli, an individual based in Luxembourg. Contact: kabiljbeli011@gmail.com.
2. What Valnivo is
Valnivo is a personal financial planning tool. You type in what you earn, spend, own and plan; the app shows where those figures could lead over 10, 20 or 30 years under assumptions you can see and change, and lets you compare alternatives. It is free during its beta. Some features are grouped under "Valnivo Plus", which may become payable later; nothing is charged without a clear, separate purchase.
3. What Valnivo is not
- It is not financial, investment, tax, pension or legal advice. Nothing in the app, in its guides or in its notifications is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, save, borrow or do anything else with your money. It shows arithmetic on your own inputs; you decide what to do with it. For advice, talk to a licensed professional who knows your situation.
- It does not handle money. Valnivo never moves, holds or receives funds, never connects to a bank or broker, and never asks for account numbers, card numbers or bank credentials. Recording a transfer in the app changes nothing in the real world.
- It is not a regulated financial service. It provides no payment, banking, investment or credit service and is not supervised as one.
4. Projections are illustrations, not promises
Every projection Valnivo shows is a calculation built on assumptions: the return you enter for each holding, the inflation rate for each country, an exchange-rate path, a chosen market scenario, and the figures you have recorded. Markets, prices, rates, taxes and your own life will not follow those assumptions. The app runs many possible futures and shows a range precisely because no single outcome can be known, and the range itself is only as good as the assumptions behind it. No figure in Valnivo is a forecast, a guarantee or a target. Live inflation and exchange rates come from public statistics sources and may be late, revised or wrong; figures marked "assumed" were chosen by the app as stand-ins and not by anyone with knowledge of the country.
5. Your responsibilities
- The figures you enter are yours; the app cannot check them.
- Keep your recovery code and your Google account safe. The online copy is encrypted with a key only you hold; if the code and every unlocked device are lost, nobody can recover it, and that is by design.
- Keep your own backup from time to time (Settings → Your data). Valnivo is a beta and the author is one person.
- Use the app for lawful personal financial planning and budgeting, for yourself and for people you share a joint space with. Do not use it to provide financial, investment, tax or pension advice to others as a service, regulated or otherwise, and do not use it in any way that breaks the law.
- In a joint space, share only what you are entitled to share, and remember every member can see what is recorded there.
6. Availability and changes
Valnivo is provided as it stands, "as is", while in beta. Features may change, be renamed, or be removed; the service may be interrupted or, with reasonable notice inside the app, stopped. Your data stays on your device regardless, and can be exported at any time. The privacy notice governs how personal data is handled and takes precedence over these terms on that subject.
7. Limitation of liability
The author is liable for damage caused by their own fault, as the law provides. Within what the law that applies to you permits, the following limits apply to a free beta service:
- Decisions are yours. Valnivo shows arithmetic on your own inputs and assumptions and gives no advice. The author is not liable for the financial consequences of decisions you take on the basis of what it shows, such as how much to save, spend, borrow or invest, or for the difference between a projection and what actually happens.
- Indirect loss. The author is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost savings or investment returns, or loss of opportunity.
- Data and availability. The service is offered without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Your data stays on your device and can be exported at any time; the author is not liable for loss of data that you could have prevented with the backup the app offers, or for loss of an encrypted online copy whose recovery code you no longer have, since by design nobody can recover it.
- Third-party figures. Inflation and exchange-rate figures fetched from public sources may be late, revised or wrong, and the author is not liable for errors in them.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law: in particular liability for death or personal injury, for fraud or intentional misconduct, for gross negligence, and liability under product-liability law. The rights consumers hold under Luxembourg and European Union law remain unaffected in every case. If a limit above is found invalid in part, the rest continues to apply.
8. Intellectual property
The Valnivo name, mark, design and code belong to the author. Your data belongs to you. You may export it at any time and use it as you wish.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Luxembourg. If you are a consumer in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply. Disputes go to the competent courts of Luxembourg, or of your country of residence where consumer law gives you that choice.
Out-of-court resolution. If you are a consumer and something cannot be settled by writing to the address above, you may turn to the Luxembourg consumer mediator, the Service national du Médiateur de la consommation (6, rue du Palais de Justice, L-1841 Luxembourg), whose procedure is free for consumers and open to residents of any EU country in a dispute with a professional established in Luxembourg. The author is willing to take part in mediation there in good faith. For cross-border questions, the European Consumer Centre Luxembourg and the ECC-Net centre in your own country advise consumers free of charge. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
10. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the version and date at the top are updated, the new text is published at this address, and the app shows its short notice once more and asks you to accept the new version before you continue. A change that would make the terms materially less favourable to you will be announced inside the app before it takes effect; if you do not accept a new version, stop using the app and, if you wish, export your data and delete your account from Settings.
| Version | Date | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | After an outside compliance review: acceptance is asked for before first use rather than implied by use; new versions must be accepted before continuing; the closed EU online dispute resolution platform was replaced by the Luxembourg consumer mediator and the European Consumer Centre; the liability section names specific limits instead of excluding "any loss or damage"; permitted use is any lawful personal planning, with a ban on providing advice to others as a service rather than a "household only" rule. | |
