What has changed
Valnivo is released once a month, and this is the record of each release: its version and its main new features. It is written for the people using the app rather than for the people building it, so it says what is different on screen and leaves the reasoning out.
VALNIVO · WHAT HAS CHANGED, BY RELEASE · 2026.10
Releases and version numbers
Valnivo is released once a month, and each release has a version number made of the year and the month: 2026.10 is October 2026's release, and the next is 2026.11. Between two releases only fixes and corrections to wording go out, numbered after the release they follow — 2026.10.1, 2026.10.2 — and they are not listed here. Each release below names its main new features, not every change.
The app carries other numbers that are easy to mistake for releases. The privacy notice and the terms of use are each versioned and dated, and you are asked to accept a new version when one appears — but those numbers version those documents and nothing else, and a new version of either may appear between releases. The Android app you can download directly has a version of its own too, because it is a file you install and it does not update itself.
Valnivo 2026.10 October 2026
- Nothing counted twice. When a statement brings in a payment you already have — one you typed, one a regular payment recorded, or a transfer that is on both of your accounts' statements — the import shows the two side by side and asks: keep yours, use the statement's, or keep both.
- Transfers to yourself, recognised. Money sent to your own account at another bank is read as a move between your accounts, even when the line does not print your name, and it goes to the account in the right country — or the import offers to add that account.
- Revolut statements. Import Revolut's PDF or CSV: each currency account on its own, fees included, money parked in pockets and payments that never went through left out, and the balance taken from Revolut's own figure.
- Check and fix entries. One place on the Ledger that runs today's import rules over what you imported before — payments counted twice, transfers filed as spending, a move sent to the wrong account, and what is still under Everything else — and fixes only what you tick.
- Drop a statement anywhere. Drag a file onto any screen to import it, with the place that takes it drawn so you can see it, and a file picker that no longer hides CSV files.
- Accounts that match reality. An account you only ever send money to asks whether that money is still there, with its statement one press away, and changing your main currency asks which accounts move with it — figures shown in each account's own currency.
- Money lent between two people, now in beta. Write down money lent to another Valnivo user as an agreement you both sign: the repayments, a signed PDF anybody can check, and no interest, no fee and no money moved by Valnivo. Switch beta on in Settings; both of you need it, and an account with the online copy.
- Charts that arrive. Lines draw, bars grow and the ring sweeps in when a screen opens, once, and a chart further down waits until you scroll to it.
- Valnivo Labs, in one place. A new About page says who offers Valnivo and links its sister products, and Valnivo Professional has its own home at enterprise.valnivo.eu.
2026.10 — Ask Valnivo, released separately on 7 October 2026
The same October release, shipped later in the month. Version 2026.10.4 in
release.json.
Version 2026.10.5: Ask Valnivo is available in Beta. Turn Beta on in Settings. It is not stable yet: an answer may be wrong or missing, and it may change or stop working.
- Ask Valnivo (Beta). A question box that runs on your device: it finds a screen, reads your own figures, answers what-ifs with the projection engine, takes you to the card it names, fills in a loan from your words for you to check and sign, and does small tasks you confirm first. It gives no advice, and your question never leaves your device. It can pick the wrong answer. Turn Beta on in Settings. It is not stable yet: an answer may be wrong or missing, and it may change or stop working.
- Sign in when you open the app on a phone. The Play app and the iPhone app open on the sign-in screen when you are signed out, with Google as the way in and a quieter choice to keep the ledger only on this device. Pinch-zoom is off inside those apps; a regular phone browser is unchanged. On a phone the screen is a welcome: the mark and a short heading, Google and “continue without an account” in the thumb zone. A computer still sees the two-column card.
- Less to read, nothing hidden. Explanations across the app now sit behind an i or a lightbulb, word for word as before, while what you must see stays on the page — privacy, disclaimers, security and anything you are about to confirm.
- A search that speaks your language. The Ledger's search reads periods and months in all eight languages — "letzten Monat", "el mes pasado", "w zeszłym miesiącu", "a settembre".
- Tidier cards. Settings and Money put each card's actions on one line, and a calculator inside a card is named once.
- Documents signed in Valnivo Sign are recognised by the checker and sent to Sign's own check, never judged against Valnivo's record.
Valnivo 2026.09 September 2026
- A new app, and a new look. The redesigned app went live for everyone, then took a calmer dark and light design, a new logo and app icon, redrawn windows, and fewer questions in the way — while every change to your figures still asks before it happens.
- Valnivo in eight languages. English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish, with the language chosen from anywhere in the app, and every guide in all eight.
- What you owe. Mortgages, loans and credit cards as real debts: when each is paid off, what paying the minimum costs, the day a card is actually taken, and a card you clear every month kept out of your total.
- Bank statements, read on your device. Import a statement from any bank, for any of your accounts, several months in one file. Entries are filed by who was paid, far better than before, a correction fixes the others like it, and imports made twice can be found and removed.
- Budgets that follow you. Where you stand this month rather than only where you ended, weekly budgets, what is left carried forward, and a year of history behind each one.
- A future you can shape. Life events and one-off amounts that count, a slider to put aside more each month, futures side by side, what happens if a currency moves, and a retirement planner for everyone.
- Money across borders. Say where you are paid if it is not where you live, see what each country holds, owes, brings in and takes out, and pick any country in the world.
- Your own board. A dashboard you arrange yourself, on a computer or a phone, with what you were worth month by month and a timeline from today on.
- More calculators. Income tax in Luxembourg and France, what a Luxembourg salary leaves in hand, cash or a mortgage, and which assumption matters most — each on the calculators page, with guides beside them.
- Money lent between two people, signed by both. A record both of you sign and keep, with a history nobody can change, a PDF anyone can check, and a timestamp from Valnivo. Open by invitation.
- Your data, your keys. Keeping a recovery code is your choice, your face or fingerprint can unlock a new device, a passkey from your phone works on a computer, and deleting your account removes everything it should.
- Reasons to look in, never pressure. What changed since your last visit, challenges you set yourself, and the ledger noticing things in your own figures — with no streaks and no scores.
- Take new features early, if you want. A beta you can switch on in Settings, and a list of what is open by invitation.
Before that
This page starts on 9 September 2026, when the redesigned app went live for everyone. Anything earlier is not written up here — the app was reachable but changing under people daily, and a list of it would be a list of things that have since changed again.
What has not changed
Worth saying on a page about change: your figures still live on your device, the copy kept in your account is still sealed with a key only you hold, there is still no bank connection and no advertising, and Valnivo still holds no money and places no orders. Those are in the terms and the privacy notice, and they are the things this record is not expected to move.
